July 11th – 13th

The traditional wedding customs portray the bride’s farewell from her home, the “šranganje” (a ritual), removing the wreath from the bride’s head, “larma” (collecting gifts for the bride), wedding dances, and the bride’s arrival at the groom’s home. The entire presentation is a 90-minute performance, faithfully performed for years by the folk dancers of the Anton Tanc Cultural Society from Marija Gradec and members of the Šentrupert Cultural and Artistic Society.

This year’s Laško Pivo in cvetje festival will again feature the authentic traditional wedding ceremony. The 55th couple to begin their life journey together will be bride Anja Ferme and groom Matej Majoranc.
