Concert Gov't Mule at the event Beer and Flowers.

This year's Grammy award-winner for lifetime achievements will perform at the Beer and Flowers Festival

Warren Haynes, this year's winner of the Grammy lifetime achievement award and nominee for this year's best album, who is considered as one of the best blues rock guitarists in the world, will perform for the first time in Slovenia. The band Gov't Mule, the founding member of which is guitarist and singer Warren Haynes, will perform at the largest Slovenian tourist-entertainment event – the Beer and Flowers Festival in Laško, on Thursday, 12 July 2012.

The concert of the band Gov't Mule in Laško will be due to the festival's favourable location and the fact that this will be the only free-of-charge performance of the band in Europe undoubtedly interesting for all lovers of American blues rock in the region, but also from the entire Balkans and from capital cities of neighbouring countries. Gov't Mule was last guest in Europe two years ago; however, they did not perform on a concert in the South-East part of Europe.

We at Pivovarna Laško are very delighted to have arranged the participation of the band Gov't Mule. Visitors of the Beer and Flowers Festival will enjoy the typical jam rock played especially by bands from South-East USA, among which the band Gov't Mule is certainly the most appealing. With the performance of such an established band we are also realizing the goal of Pivovarna Laško as the general sponsor of the Beer and Flowers Festival to offer visitors a quality and appealing music programme in addition to the wide selection of other tourist-entertainment events at this largest traditional Slovenian entertainment event.

Warren Haynes, the founding member and creative leader of the band Gov't Mule, was nominated this year for the Grammy for the best blues album with the album "Man in motion", and received the prestigious Grammy for lifetime achievements as the member of The Allman Brothers Band with which he performed for the last 23 years. Warren Haynes is considered as one of the most active musicians, performing on over 200 concerts every year – with The Allman Brothers Band or Gov't Mule, with his supporting band or as a guest guitarist of other bands. Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks are regarded as one of the best guitar duos in music history and capably continue the tradition of band's first guitar duo – the legendary Duane Allmand and Dickey Betts. Warren Haynes is also an excellent vocalist and author of many hits, including emotional ballads like Soulshine, performed by The Allman Brothers Band as well as Gov't Mule, and Beautifully broken.

The music of the band Gov't Mule, beside Warren Haynes consisting also of base player Jorgen Carlsson, keyboard player and multi-instrumentalist Danny Luis and drummer Matt Abts, is known for its exceptional concert performances where hard rock songs alternate with heartfelt ballads and classic blues songs. Considering their extensive repertoire the band repeats very few songs on their various tours, this is why fans frequently attend more of their concerts.

The concert of the band Gov't Mule in Laško will therefore be a great opportunity for music enthusiasts with the most sophisticated concert wishes, and at the same time an opportunity for all those who enjoy listening to guitar virtuosos. In fact, Gibson, one of the most renowned guitar brands in the world, also manufactures the Warren Haynes "signature", a Les Paul type guitar for which the guitar master contributed technical specifications. Undoubtedly, Gov't Mule is not only Haynes' "support" band, but a homogenous band of four top musicians whose music has to be listened live.
